UNIMA Internationale (Internationale Union of Puppetry Art) is calling for applications from a talented and experienced graphic designer, capable of producing the layout of a large-scale magazine in three versions – English, French and Spanish.

Project description:

UNIMA plans to create a magazine in color featuring articles from around the world. Each version will be produced in three of the organization’s five official languages (French, English, Spanish). The magazine will highlight the world of puppetry through a variety of content. The magazine will highlight the world of puppetry through a variety of content:

  • Feature articles exploring key themes in the art of puppetry on an international scale.
  • Thematic interviews or discourse and portraits.
  • Photographs: illustrating creations, shows and artists.
  • Maps with elements of resources (professional training schools, museums…)

We expect the 3 versions of the magazine to be published at the beginning of May 2025. The magazine will be published online as a printable format.

 Details of the project:

  • Number of versions of the edition: 3 – in French, English and Spanish (in the same layout)
  • Number of pages per version: Between 130 and 160 pages
  • Multimedia content: Photos, diagrams and maps

Skills and profile required:

We are looking for a professional graphic designer capable of meeting the following criteria:

  • Mastery of page layout for large-scale print publications, ideally for magazines or books.
  • Excellent knowledge of DTP (Desktop Publishing) software such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. and the constraints of photo printing.
  • Experience of managing multilingual projects, ideally in a cultural or artistic context.
  • Visual and artistic flair for showcasing diverse content (articles, interviews, portraits, maps, photographs).
  • Ability to manage large volumes of content, while ensuring fluidity and graphic consistency throughout each version.
  • Excellent communication skills to deal with an international team.
  • Thoroughness and respect for deadlines.
  • It would be a plus to understand at least two of the three languages.

 Expected deliverables:

  • Proposed mock-ups for approval before production.
  • Complete layout of the 3 versions of the magazine, including texts, images and graphic elements.
  • Preparation of files for printing (print-ready format).

Budget

The budget for this assignment is 2,500€ including VAT.
