A

AVIAMA

Acronym:
The international association of puppet-friendly cities (in French association des villes amies de la marionnette, AVIAMA) is an association which aims at bringing together whole world’s towns and local governments around the puppet.

The AVIAMA aims to promote and suport the arts of the puppet. In doing so, cities and local governments which are members wish that the arts of the puppets serve as means in the development of their territory and participate in the lighting up of their population.

The AVIAMA wishes to bring together those cities around their common support to this very special artistic expression, so they can share their experiences, find resources and unite for a better recognition of this always blooming art.

B&P

Acronym:
B&P is the UNIMA hosting network. This name is the abbreviation of the former network’s name, “Bed and Puppet”.

Concillor

Definition:

Acronym:
Encyclopédie mondiale des arts de la marionnette (EMAM).

Executif Committee

Definition:
The Executive Committee directs UNIMA activities between Congresses.

The Executive Committee has to carry out the programme of activities defined by the Congress, to see that the Statutes and Rules of Procedure are respected, to consider reports and motions referred to it, to approve the annual budget of UNIMA and its use, and to approve the annual report by the General Secretary.

International Councillor

The international Councillors are elected democratically for 4 years, before each congress.

The role of councillor is to be the representant of its country and vote.

The number of councillors by country depends on the number of members.

Until 100 members = 2 councillors.

Between 101 and 200 members = 3 councillors.

More than 200 members = 4 councillors.

Supplementary Councillor

The supplementary councillor is elected during the congress. They are 10.

Supplementary councillors vote during the congresses and the councils. They are independently elected and cannot represent a country that is member of UNIMA.

UNESCO

Acronym:
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (French: Organisation des Nations unies pour l’éducation, la science et la culture, UNESCO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations (UN) created in November 16th, 1945.

Its purpose is “to contribute to peace and security by promoting collaboration among the nations through education, science and culture in order to further universal respect for justice, for the rule of law and for the human rights and fundamental freedoms which are affirmed for the peoples of the world, without distinction of race, sex, language or religion, by the Charter of the United Nations”.

The headquarter of UNESCO is located in Paris (France).
