Dear members of UNIMA and friends of puppetry around the world,

We are welcoming you on our brandly new website, put on line on March 13th 2014. We are extremely proud to offer you a tool of high graphic quality conceived by a talented company, the group e-magineurs from Lyon, France.

Don’t hesitate to explore the full aspects of it, sending us questions and commentaries, and in publishing yourselves the activities of your UNIMA Center.

You will learn, among other things, that UNIMA is actually present in 97 countries, have numerous projects coming from its 16 working Commissions, including the future English, Spanish and web translations of  the Encyclopédie mondiale des arts de la marionnette edited in French on September 25th, 2009. If UNIMA has high expectations, it’s because it has deep roots, being founded in 1929 in Prague and confirmed in the following months by international meetings in Liège and Paris.

UNIMA is the oldest association of theatre people in the world. Since you are on the site, take this opportunity and read the Message for the World Puppetry Day 2014 , written by the Argentinian Master Eduardo Di Mauro and consult the last details of the UNIMA Council Meeting which will take place on April 22nd-23rd- 24th, 2014 in Varadero – Cuba, in the frame of the Matanzas International Puppet Festival. The web address to get all information about the programme is: http://www.unimacuba2014.info . The limit date to register is March 20th, 2014.

In the name of our president Dadi Pudumjee and all the members of the UNIMA Executive Committee, I would like to thank with all my heart Raphaèle Fleury, designer of the PAM and member of the UNIMA Publication and Communication Commission. She has remarkably and voluntarily piloted the project of rebuilding our Internet site with the help of Lothaire Claudel, that she felt as the best person for the role of assistant coordinator. We are highly tributed to them for the beauty and the hyper functionality of our new site that we have now to kindly approached, explore to better make us our own.

A big thank also to Fabrice Guilliot who has created our first site and nourished it of thousands manners with acuity and generosity since so many years, always as voluntary.

More than ever we have the possibility of working together to the development and the promotion of the puppetry art in all its dimensions, including the interactivity.
Enjoy it !
