Brief history
UNIMA Kenya was established in 2004 as an NGO, nurtured by Family Programme Promotion Service (FPPS), the pioneer puppetry organization in East and Central Africa. The organization aims to bring together all the puppeteers and organizations interested in the development of the art of puppetry in Kenya and East Africa as a means of communication and education. The Centre attempts to represent the interests of Kenyan puppeteers in the international forums. It promotes and presents the art of puppetry to reflect the talent and cultural treasures of the country.
Important projects and achievements
UNIMA Kenya in partnership with FPPS has implemented several puppetry projects such as: Puppets Against HIV/AIDS, Puppets and Therapy, Puppets for Good Governance, Puppets for the Environment, Sanitation and Community Health, etc.
