Given the impossibility of celebrating World Puppetry Day in attendance, UNIMA Italy organized a four-day online event. Together, World Puppetry Day and Children’s Theater Day will be celebrated, with the signing of a convention by the national centers of UNIMA and Assitej and a conference, again in collaboration with Assitej, on puppetry and children’s theater. On zoom there will also be the third appointment of the series of meetings “Ideas in a circle: form is substance?” with the interventions of UNIMA Italia members. Every evening, from Friday to Sunday, RadioResitiAmo UNIMA Italia will be “aired” on facebook and youtube, with contents specially created by the members. On Friday 19 March, in the afternoon a meeting dedicated to the relationship between criticism and puppetry will take place on zoom, with the representation of the major Italian theater criticism magazines. The celebrations will close on Sunday 21 with the National Assembly of UNIMA Italia Members, a meeting dedicated to the new honorary member Mariano Dolci and a Focus on the UNIMA members of Parma, the city that has been elected Capital of Culture in Italy for 2020 and 2021 and in which the World Puppetry Day demonstration was supposed to take place.
