Join UNIMA Ukraine & UNIMA Nordic on 17. February, 2024 at 14:00 CET for the third Puppet Saturday Lecture Series event.
Dr. Kateryna Lukianenko will present on the Ukrainian theatre project The Sixth Sense. The Sixth Sense is an inclusive theatre research project for audiences with visual impairments. It explores a sensory theater format to develop inclusive performances where everything can be experienced equally – challenging how we engage with live performance. Spectators are invited to use all five senses (a 5D theater, as children in Ukraine called it) to discover a “sense” capable of making people equal as spectators. Taste, smell, touch, sound and visual sensations are incorporated into the storytelling experience: it is a performance of sensations. The project also examines acting from a different perspective, where the actor is no longer someone to be observed, but has to find different experiential tools to communicate and connect with the audience.
The event will be in Ukrainian with simultaneous translation to English.
Duration: 90 minutes
