Open call for registrations on Puppet and Object Theatre
Centro del Títere in Madrid (Spain) opens registration for the Performing Arts Specialist Degree in the discipline of Puppet and Object Theatre, a two-year training to become a puppeteer, taught by prestigious professionals with years of experience in the world of puppetry, visual and object theatre.
This is the second promotion of Centro del Títere’s school, which will run from October 2024 to June 2026, and for which the enrolment period is open until 15th July.
The specialist course proposes a transversal and practical approach that combines performing arts and plastic arts. Thus, the training focus on making puppets and offers other subjects such as acting, manipulation, voice, direction or dramaturgy, among others. All of this is accompanied by monographs that allow the deepening of techniques such as glove, shadows, string puppetry or objects, and aspects such as financing and distribution. It is an eminently practical training that allows to acquire the necessary tools and skills to become a professional in puppet and object theatre. The objective is that each student can create their own show, work in each of the phases of the process or be part of the cast of a puppet company.
Centro del Títere is managed by the Foundation El Arte del Títere, promoted by the puppet company La Tartana Teatro. Inaugurated in December 2021, Centro del Títere -located in Madrid, Alcorcón- has become a reference space for professionals and puppet lovers.
