Most recently, during the UNIMA Puppetry Collaboratorium project at the FLUM International Puppet Art Festival in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, we had the honor of hosting Mr. Siyavash Sattari, President of UNIMA Mobarak – Iran.
Mr. Sattari brought with him a wealth of knowledge, presenting a unique workshop on traditional Iranian string puppetry techniques. His workshop was not just a showcase of intricate puppetry skills but also a window into Iran’s cultural heritage, enriching the global puppetry community.
Mr. Sattari’s dedication to preserving and promoting this art is beautifully reflected in his work, including his collaboration with the Siyavash Museum. Together, they embarked on 13 extensive journeys, covering over 20,000 kilometers, offering more than 100 puppetry workshops to underprivileged children across Iran. Remarkably, all these efforts were entirely self-funded, making his contribution even more inspiring.

Mr. Sattari’s work is a testament to the universal power of puppetry to inspire, educate, and unite communities around the world. We are grateful for his participation and for the treasures of Iranian puppetry that he has shared with us.
