As noted by the organizer: During 5 intensive days, in July 2024, in the center of Barcelona we will bring together some of our former students and new participants interested in the therapeutic power of puppets, art therapy, mental health and animated forms. Through its emphasis on international scenarios of emergencies and learned hopelessness, this training presents and reviews Muñecoterapia Chile’s model for research and intervention with adults, in the context of memory, notified and transgenerational trauma (Pos Memoria). The purpose is to bring together our experiences in the contemporary field of Animated Therapeutic Forms and to discover a new way of looking at the wide world of Puppet Therapy from a theoretical and practical basis. This introductory training provides tools for animating forms such as puppets, objects and materials, along with elements of art therapy. It explores the dramatic and flexible function of puppet theatre as a resource for people both with and without therapeutic experience, to guide group processes, creating and exploring their potential for repair at an individual and group level. The Model of Animated Therapeutic Forms: Memory & Trauma © consists of organized strategies which initiate and accompany recovery, where the personal trauma is understood by everyone. This is achieved by using metaphor and making it physically real. Thus complex experiences can be understood.
