The city of Charleville-Mézières, UNIMA – International Union of Puppetry and the International Institute of Puppetry join to welcome during the week of festivities planned for the World Puppetry Day 2023 Ukrainian puppetry students.

Sensitive to the situation in Ukraine, the partners evoked during the World Puppetry Day 2022 their wish to strengthen the links in the field with a city in Ukraine in order to open perspectives for the artists living the terrible drama of the war.

Also, they chose to lay the foundations of this cooperation during the next edition of the World Puppetry Day 2023 which federates about twenty partners in Charleville-Mézières, in the Ardennes department and in the Grand Est region. 

On this occasion, 4 young puppetry students from the Kharkiv school and their director Oksana Dmitryeva will be welcomed.

A programme of activities is being prepared and will take place from 18 to 24 March.
