Livija Kroflin lives in Zagreb, Croatia. She is an associate professor with the theatre arts department of the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek’s Academy of Arts and Culture, where she heads up the puppetry programme and teaches courses in the history and aesthetics of puppetry for which she devised the teaching plans. She also teaches the Post-graduate Specialized Course in Drama Pedagogy at the Faculty of Teacher Education of the University of Zagreb and at the undergraduate and graduate study of early and pre-school training and education at the University of Slavonski Brod. Since 1995 she has taken part in organizing the Little Summer School of Croatian Language and Culture, for which she has developed a programme to teach Croatian in a puppetry workshop. She has taken part in programmes targeted at the Croatian diaspora in France, Sweden, the United States of America, and Austria. She writes books and articles about puppetry, which she publishes in Croatia and abroad, and takes part in international puppetry conferences. She is a member of the UNIMA International Executive Committee and the president of the Education, Development and Therapy Commission.
