Since 1954, TIM – Children’s Puppet Theater has been a lasting symbol of Brazilian art, being the oldest active puppet group. Founded by Odila Cardoso de Sena. This valuable legacy is widely attributed to the vision and tireless dedication of one of its sons: Antônio Carlos de Sena, or simply Sena, as he was known among puppeteers. We deeply mourn the loss of this illustrious master, whose commitment to preserving and innovating puppet theater left an indelible mark on the cultural history of Brazil. His impact transcended borders and inspired generations of artists.

A graduate in Performing Arts from UFRGS, Porto Alegre, Sena was not only an inspiring teacher in schools in the capital of Rio Grande do Sul, but also a prominent leader in the theatrical community. His influence was fundamental to the creation and success of the International Puppet Theater Festival of Canela, an event that raised the prestige and importance of puppetry in the national and international scene. Today, more than ever, it is imperative to honor and preserve the legacy of TIM and one of its sons: “Tutu”.

We send our embrace to Reneide and the entire Sena family, and may this valuable cultural heritage continue to enchant and inspire future generations.
