Between November 13-17, 2024, the 27th annual “World Puppet Festival” (Harmony World Puppet Innovation Festival 2024) will be held at the National Science Museum (NSM) in Khlong Luang, Pathum Thani, Thailand.

As the main host country, Thailand aims to establish a cooperation agreement and support the development of ‘puppet innovation,’ with the event organized by NSM (National Science Museum Thailand, under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation).

This year’s focus was on knowledge exchange processes to inspire the development of diverse and creative puppet design techniques. The event included displays, exhibitions of Thai and international puppets, presentations of various puppet mechanisms, and an interactive puppet play experience that brought excitement and enjoyment to audiences. This year’s festival, under the theme ‘PUPPET MAKER,’ emphasized the concept of a “Festival Economy,” a large-scale national event fostering collaboration between government agencies, private sectors, and civil society. It provided a platform for Thai society to learn about science, art, and culture through the performing arts of puppetry, and the history and development of puppets from the World Puppet Festival, driven by shared passion and ideals.
