What are the puppets we are dealing with today? What is the puppet’s relationship with an actor? The new puppet more and more often adopts the name of an animant, coined to describe absolutely any object, tangible or immaterial – subjected to an animation by an artist. And the actor is, first and foremost, the puppet’s partner. He plays a stage character just like a puppet. And they are equal figures. The human actor does not dominate the theatrical space. It shows a world in which a human being, himself, and an inanimate object function according to the same laws. This new direction, new puppet, started in the last decades, became popular, dominated the practice of creators and theatres, with whom we combine the most interesting contemporary achievements in the art of puppet theatre.
