Brief history
The national Centre of Azerbaijan was created September 21, 2011. The members are mostly from the State Puppet theatre and international organizations represented in Azerbaijan. It enjoys close relationships with the other UNIMA national Centres. In 2013, it has welcomed a meeting of UNIMA’s Executive Committee.
Important projects and achievements
With the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan and the State Puppet Theatre, courses are organized for actors of the puppet theatre. The Centre participates in events organized in Azerbaijan. Shows have been organized in schools and secondary educational institutions with the active participation of the children in these organizations. It is working with refugees’ families and in orphanages. It participates in the organization of the first International Puppet Festivals in Baku (2011, 2013). It is present at International Festivals abroad.
