Brief history
The Puppeteers Union of Togo/UNIMA National Centre gathers together several associations and private and independent puppet theatre companies which use their funds for the building of workplaces and also the creation of their shows. Each association, company or group produces at least three new shows per year and does between 20 and 50 performances.

Important projects and achievements
UNIMA Togo continues to participate actively with all other countries at international exchanges for the puppetry art. In order to contribute to the promotion and development of puppetry art in Togo, in Africa and in the rest of the world, it organized under the patronage of the Togolese Ministry of Arts and Culture and with the Goethe Institute (German cultural centre in Lome), the first edition of an International Festival of puppetry arts in 2013. It organizes an open house Day of the Puppet designed to educate the audience and train the artists.
