Virtual Canada-USA Puppeteers Get Together! Join UNIMA-Canada, UNIMA-USA, Puppeteers of America and the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center on Zoom for a first ever virtual gathering of Canadian and US puppeteers on Monday, January 12th at 8 pm EST. - This event is in English, is free, and lasts approximately 75 minutes.  Led by Mark Blashford, this gathering will feature short puppetry performances, and information on upcoming opportunities to connect across North America, with opening remarks by Kurt Hunter and Hélène Ducharme. UNIMA (Union Internationale de la Marionnette) invites you to join us in solidarity by supporting our Emergency Aid for Puppeteers initiative, a lifeline for artists facing extraordinary hardships. Managed confidentially by the Cooperation Commission and UNIMA staff, the program provides essential aid to puppeteers and members enduring crises such as war, natural disasters, economic difficulties, or serious illness. Funds help cover critical needs like food, medical and hygiene supplies,... It was unthinkable in Swedish theatre at the time to perform to children under the age of five. They didn’t think children so young could understand. Today, theatre is made for babies too.
