Brief history
Cuba has maintained links with UNIMA International since the 1960s. In the 1970s and 1980s, there was constant activity in coordination with UNIMA International, a relationship which disappeared from 1992 until 2010, even though there was activity on the national level from 1994 to 2007. In the 1980s, there was an informative bulletin called “Kokoricamo”.
Important projects and achievements
Since 2010, our digital monthly newsletter, “Pelusín el Mensajero” (Pelusin the Messenger) has published news about the intense activity of the Cuban puppeteers. The new Cuban UNIMA Centre, was since its foundation invited to join the Organization of Theoretical Forums at the National Festival of Theatre of Camagüey, the International Festival of Theatre in Havana and the international Workshop of Puppets in Matanzas. In 2014, it hosted the Council of UNIMA
