– Letter from the President and the General Secretary of UNIMA
Dear Colleagues,
These first seven months at the helm of UNIMA International have taken us around the world, allowing us to discover your remarkable projects—projects that unite, inspire, and structure the development of the art of puppetry. They have made us realize the scope of our mandate as we embark on the journey toward our centenary, attentive to your concerns and dreams. At the same time, they remind us daily of the privilege of serving this vast artistic and humanistic association, carried forward by your diverse voices.
The coming year will begin with the celebrations of World Puppetry Day in March 2026. We have invited the great master Yaya Coulibaly to write the international message and to come to Charleville-Mézières, France, to mark this day with a keynote lecture, broadcast live worldwide, for all of us.
We also invite you to inform us of the activities you are preparing for WPD in your cities and towns. Additional information will be shared in the newsletter at the end of January 2026.
With the hope that 2026 brings peace, creativity, and serenity across our five continents, we extend our very best wishes for the coming year. May it offer us many opportunities for exchange, artistic collaboration, and happiness.
Louise and Fabrizio
