La Hoja Titiritera is a free, bilingual (Spanish/Portuguese), and international publication dedicated to puppetry, object theater, and animated forms. It is published by the Communications Secretariat of the Latin American Subcommittee of UNIMA Latin America Commission.
About La Hoja Titiritera
Its tradition dates back to La Hoja del Titiritero, a valuable information portal originally launched by Roberto Lago (Mexico), whose work was continued with quality, commitment, and enormous dedication by Ana María Allende (Chile), Susanita Freire (Uruguay/Brazil), Manuel Morán (Puerto Rico), Rubén Darío Salazar (Cuba), and Tito Lorefice (Argentina).
In this new phase, the magazine adopts the name La Hoja Titiritera as a renewal in keeping with the times, incorporating a more inclusive and equitable vision. Its Editorial Board is made up of puppeteers and academics from several countries—Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Peru, and Mexico—and features contributions from colleagues throughout Latin America.
Within its pages, readers will find a carefully curated selection of news, historical texts, and critical and theoretical analyses on the development of puppetry in our continent. La Hoja Titiritera thus continues a long tradition of preserving, reflecting upon, and disseminating knowledge about the world of puppetry in Latin America.
