UNIMA International, in partnership with the State Puppet Theatre – Plovdiv and AKT-UNIMA Bulgaria, is pleased to announce the UNIMA South-East Europe Regional Meeting, which will take place in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, from 19 to 22 February 2026.

The meeting is part of the project “Together Again” (BG-RRP-11.021-0003) within the Europe and Beyond programme of the Municipality of Plovdiv and is held under the patronage of the Bulgarian Ministry of Culture.

About the Meeting

This regional gathering aims to strengthen cooperation, dialogue, and mutual understanding among UNIMA National Centres and puppet theatre professionals in South-East Europe. It will provide a platform for sharing experiences, presenting national contexts, and developing future collaborations within the UNIMA network.

Participants

The meeting is addressed to representatives of the following UNIMA National Centres and communities:

• UNIMA HELLAS (Greece)

• UNIMA Türkiye

• UNIMA Slovenija

• Hrvatski Centar UNIMA (Croatia)

• UNIMA Magyar Központ (Hungary)

• UNIMA Centar Srbije

• UNIMA Bosnia and Herzegovina (official representative: Edin Kmetas)

• Romanian puppet community (represented by Octavian Szalad)

The programme will also include Bulgarian managers of state and independent puppet theatre companies, as well as individual members of AKT-UNIMA Bulgaria.

Working Language

The working language of the meeting will be English.
