Short introduction about Dockteatern Tittut – Stockholm, Sweden

When Ing-Marie Tirén and Eva Gumpert started the Puppet Theatre Tittut in 1977 and began making theatre for children from the age of two, they were breaking new ground. It was unthinkable in Swedish theatre at the time to perform to children under the age of five. They didn’t think children so young could understand. Today, theatre is made for babies too.

For over 48 years Tittut has been producing shows always with a focus on the youngest children and the ambition of being engaging and innovative. After many years of experience, we know that having an introduction is important. Each performance starts with a meeting between the actors and audience in the foyer to create trust and curiosity.
