UNIMA 2029: 100 Years – 25th Congress to be Held in Prague, Czech Republic

We are proud to announce that the 25th UNIMA Congress will be held in Prague, Czech Republic, in 2029, marking the 100th anniversary of the founding of UNIMA.

This decision was made following a vote by UNIMA members, where the Czech Republic received overwhelming support as the host country. Out of 99 valid votes, 98 voted YES (99.0%), with only 1 abstention and no votes against.

This momentous decision brings UNIMA back to its roots – Prague, the city where UNIMA was founded in 1929, will once again be at the heart of the global puppetry community.

As we look ahead to 2029, this Congress will not only celebrate a century of puppetry and international collaboration but also reaffirm UNIMA’s dedication to promoting cultural exchange, creativity, and peace through puppetry arts.
