Actor, playwright and artistic director. General Director of Teatro La Proa. Graduated in Theater Arts from the University of the Arts (I.S.A), in the dramaturgy profile. Graduated from the Center for the Improvement of the Arts in Havana City. Graduated from the course of Theater for children and puppets at the Higher Institute of Art, in 2001. President of UNIMA CUBA and Vice President of the Section of Theater for children and puppets of the UNEAC. Professor of the National Theater School, in the subject Acting with Puppets and Stage Direction, since 2018. He is part of the team of advisors of the Theater Center of Havana. He has been a member of the groups: Calidoscopio and Eclipse. He has been part of the casts of Cuban radio and TV since 2007. He has directed Teatro La Proa since its founding on June 1, 2003. Among his main recognitions are the 2011 Caricato Award for Male Acting, for his performance as the leading character in the show: Mowgli, the one bitten by the wolves and the Nomination for the 2010 Adolfo Llauradó Award for the play: Adventure with the Television. Playwriting Award at the 4th Puppet Bacanal for Adults 2018 with the play La Lista de Genaro. Research Award granted by the University of the Arts, 2020 – 2021, for the play La lista de Genaro. Mention in the Dora Alonso Contest 2021 with the play: The desire of the Indian Ocean. Mention in the Camagüey City Award, Silvestre de Balboa with the play Amelia Sueña Mariposas. Second and Third place in the International Children’s Playwriting Competition El duende que vive en mi 2021, Ecuador, with the plays Amelia sueña Mariposas and El deseo del Océano Índico, respectively. Nominated for the 2024 Caricato Award for best director for the play Amelia sueña Mariposas. Fernandina de Jagua Award 2024 for the play, Clara niña sin palabras. He has taught workshops on the specialty in Bolivia, Mexico and Cuba. He represented Cuba at: the April 2015 Festival in Denmark; at the ASSITEJ World Congress, in South Africa, in May 2017; at the LASA 2018 Latin American Studies Congress, in Barcelona, Spain and at the LASA 2019 congress in Boston, United States. In Colombia, he has participated in several Theater Festivals, and in performances and workshops in schools and communities. In Spain he also participated in the International Puppet Festival of Seville, 2024. He was part of the founding Management Team of the Bacanal de Títeres para Adultos and is the main creator and founder, together with Arneldy Cejas, of the Jornada Habana tiritera: figuras entre adoquines, of which he is the General Director.
