UNIMA Thailand, in collaboration with the National Science Museum (NSM) and The Semathai Marionette Foundation Arts for Social, is pleased to announce the open call for the Harmony World Puppet Innovation Festival 2024. This festival is part of the research project “Guidelines for Connecting Knowledge to Innovation through the World Puppet Festival,” which will be held at the National Science Museum (NSM), Khlong 5, Pathum Thani Province, Thailand, from November 13th to November 17th, 2024.

The Harmony World Puppet Innovation Festival 2024 is a continuation of the Harmony World Puppet Toy Robot Innovation Festival 2023, aimed at fostering sustainable development by adapting to the evolving dynamics of the world. The festival will feature an exhibition of Thai and international puppets, along with presentations on puppetry mechanisms. The event promotes the experience of playing with puppets, supporting creative design through technology, and engaging with science in innovative ways.

The festival seeks to demonstrate the potential of science, technology, innovation, and modern higher education in creating excitement, inspiration, and scientific awareness within Thai society. It provides an opportunity for youth and the general public to access information, gain knowledge, participate in practical experiences, and engage in scientific activities in new and creative ways.

In 2024, the focus will be on the innovation development process, enhancing collaboration and knowledge exchange across eight categories under the concept of Puppet Maker. Through training, seminars, and collaboration, new productions will be developed and showcased at the Harmony World Puppet Innovation Festival 2024.
