It all began in 1989, in a small theater tucked away in Chuncheon.
A performance, simple in its form but rich in spirit, planted the first seed of what would become a beautiful tradition. Over the years, that seed grew—spreading roots, touching hearts, and slowly transforming the city itself into a living, breathing fairy tale. Today, Chuncheon is more than just a city in South Korea. It is a place where puppetry is not only performed but lived. A place where imagination runs freely through the streets, where emotions are stitched into fabric and carved into wood, and where stories find their voice in the hands of artists from all over the world.
From children with wide-eyed wonder to seasoned masters of the craft, people of all ages gather here—not just to watch puppetry, but to create its future together.
