Omar Álvarez has been involved in puppetry since 1980, receiving training from prestigious instructors such as Ariel Buffano, Adelaida Mangani, and Javier Villafañe. He is part of the official puppetry company of the San Martín Theatre and founded his own company, Omar Álvarez Títeres. He has toured extensively with his productions, presenting shows in countries including China, South Korea, Singapore, the USA, Canada, and many others. His involvement in UNIMA includes serving as a member of the Festivals Commission and managing the International Puppet Festival Mundo Títere Fest.
