En suecia, Michael Meschke ha sido homenajeado por el rey en el transcurso de una ceremonia en el Palacio Real de Estocolmo, donde recibió la Medalla de los Reyes por servicios meritorios como director de teatro. La Medalla de los Reyes fue instaurada alrededor de 1814, y se otorga a ciudadanos suecos y extranjeros por su contribución extraordinaria.

Many of us know Michael Meschke, both through UNIMA as also from Marionette theatre which he founded in Stockholm, as also the 3 year experiment in the mid 70’s at the marionette theatre institute, I was lucky to be a guest student at this school for a year, a short UNIMA scholarship, which was then extended by the Swedish institute.
This stay in Stockholm changed my whole perspective as a puppeteer, from a hobby to Meher Contractor in Ahmedabad, to Michael Meschke in Stockholm and to what I do today… Congratulations to Michael well deserved…!
